Traumatic Brain Injury Article

If you or someone you know has suffered from a traumatic brain injury, this article is something you should read.   There is a reason it is sometimes considered an invisible injury.   The symptoms can be confusing, tiring, and difficult to explain to others.  When the soft tissue of the brain is damaged, it takes time to recover and it is not a process that can be forced.  It is often an emotionally exhausting and physically draining experience for the person recovering.   Compassionate, consistent support is important for recovery, but sometimes the best of intentions can be met with frustration and aggression because of lack of knowledge, education, and awareness.   Support those with TBI and understand that even a mild traumatic brain injury, like a concussion, can have a lasting impact.  Learn about how to connect and communicate with those recovering.
