mTBI is a mild traumatic brain injury. A concussion is classified as such. Did you know that the damage from one head injury becomes cumulative when you have a second, a third, and so on? It's true. Protecting your head should be top priority because the goods inside are rather delicate and can be potentially, permanently damaged with multiple blows to the head.
Consider this.....if you are in a car accident and you stop short throwing your head and neck back, the brain hits the back of the skull at the speed you were traveling at and then as the head comes forward the brain also hits the front of the skull at the same rate of speed. This means that you now have impact in the front of the brain and the back of the brain. Now imagine you were just traveling at 65-70 miles an hour. Diagnosis of a concussion doesn't seem so mild anymore when you imagine your delicate brain traveling and making impact at that speed. Concussions should be taken seriously.
