A soldier once told me that if I ever feel sad, alone, or scared to look up at the sky and look for Orion's belt. We are under the same stars looking up at the same great warrior in the sky.
PTSD is solitary. It is confining. It is isolating and therefore difficult to believe anyone would ever truly understand what you are going through. But I will tell you the same thing that soldier told me.
Whenever you feel frustrated, alone, angry, misunderstood, or just plain sorrowful. Step outside and look up. There are many on the journey with you feeling the same way. You are never on the path alone, even on the darkest of days.
I believe in a network of healing. As each person who suffers with this awakens and recognizes their potential to heal, they in turn reach out to help others on the path. No one wants to see any one of you left behind and I can tell you that I have experienced the most profound of hearts in the toughest of exteriors.
