Healing comes in many forms. For one soldier, healing came through the plants, flowers, and land he cultivated outside of the medical hold at Fort Dix. It was his time to pray, to meditate, to just be who he is, as he is. We often talked about the healing that came from being patient with the plants. Knowing that watering them, tending them, and waiting for their time to bloom mattered. You can't rush them. They bloom when they are supposed to.
This Christmas, may the soldier who brought so much wisdom, laughter, and love to all of us at the Warrior Transition Unit and Charlie Company rest peacefully, knowing he helped each of us heal.
