This new year, instead of setting a resolution that puts pressure on you to be a certain way, consider setting an intention to allow yourself to simply unfold into your year.
What does that mean? Well, it means relinquishing pressure, self-doubt, judgment, and self-criticism for not being what you or others think you should be in this moment.
You are as you are and that is okay. As you begin to take the pressure off of yourself to be different and simply allow life to unfold, you begin to develop an awareness of what couldn't be seen under pressure previously.
Remember that when we are stressed and feeling pressured, we aren't seeing clearly nor are we thinking rationally. There may be solutions, resources, and tools existing in you, around you, and through you that you haven't accessed yet because it is all being blocked by stress, fear, and anxiety.
Who you are is a human being that wants to be loved, appreciated, and cared for. These are simply human concepts that seem so profound and far away when we've practiced stress for so long. They aren't concepts out of your reach. They actually exist within you and they are what you need to practice with yourself before you can learn to see outside of yourself.
Wishing each of you a new year with a new vision of how you view trauma and PTSD. They don't make you broken, as a matter of fact, I think they have the potential to make you wiser.
